Jeff’s Excellent Adventure to Mardi Gras 2011

Jeff and Guy (left) left Austin on Saturday morning at the ass crack of dawn for their Excellent Louisiana Mardi Gras Adventure 2011.

And what proper Mardi Gras weekend begins in Louisiana without jambalaya? In this case, stirred by Timmy Guidry, whose father owns Charlie T’s Specialty Meats in Breaux Bridge, LA.

And just to make sure no one was going hungry… cracklings, stirred here by Mills Caillier.

Above photo needs no explanation. Note the okra garnish.

Musical highlights were Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band at the Church Point Mardi Gras Celebration. Chubby won a Grammy, by the way.

Geno Delafose and French Rockin’ Boogie at Whiskey River Landing.

Keith Frank and the Soileau Zydeco Band at The Zydeco Hall of Fame (formerly Richard’s) in Lawtell, LA.

Laissez les bons temps rouler!!!
